Goal

Across the curriculum and in the entire 5th grade the QBall will be utilized to increase active engagement in Reading, Math, Science and Social Studies.

What will be done with my students

During whole group lessons Qball can be used to assess comprehension of concepts taught from prior lessons. As the teacher reviews concepts she may throw the QBall to a random student to maintain active engagement with the whole class. This method could be used to review key concepts in Science and Social Studies. In Reading this activity could be used for weekly vocabulary and a for a continuing spiral review of reading concepts. In Math it can be utilized when reviewing new concepts and opertations.

Benefits to my students

It will benefit the students by increasing active engagement and allowing one student to talk at a time. It could also give a voice to those who normally do not like to speak in front of others or may have a very quiet voice.
