Goal

To provide large laminated charts for students to use to work in groups and problem solve math problems as a team.

What will be done with my students

In a recent Cambridge teacher training Lisa and I learned a teaching process called 360 math. Using large charts or whiteboards around the room the teacher can stand in the middle and see 360 degrees of the math teams working on higher level thinking math standards with challenging problems. The students work together on large charts to solve the problems and the teacher moves around the circle facilitating. The charts provide an opportunity for the teacher to see everyone's thinking in a large group.

Benefits to my students

Students use cooperative groupings to work together to problem solve. The teacher has the opportunity to support a hands-on learning experience that allows higher level thinking to develop around math problems.

Budget Narrative

The chart paper is reusable and durable and can be used by many classes.
