Statewide Reach for Local Impact

FIND IT FUND IT FLORIDA

To help my students have an organized place for their journals, reading bags and work folders. My kindergarten classroom is in a portable with very limited space and storage. The students really need a place to store their journals, reading bags and student folders. Right now everything is being stored on the top of the table, which limits the amount of space to work on their classwork.

Goal

To help my students have an organized place for their journals, reading bags and work folders. My kindergarten classroom is in a portable with very limited space and storage. The students really need a place to store their journals, reading bags and student folders. Right now everything is being stored on the top of the table, which limits the amount of space to work on their classwork.

What will be done with my students

Students will learn how to be responsible for their journals, reading bags and work folders. They will learn how to organize their class work and projects. They will learn how take care of classroom materials. I believe students in Kindergarten have a great potential to take ownership of their learning. One of the most important steps in that process is learning how to keep their lives organized so that they can access the information they need as they continue the learning process. This organization step will be possible with the use of a seat sack. These seat sacks are of high quality materials, can be easily washed and will be used every day for many years to come.

Benefits to my students

The most significant benefit will be to time saved by having an organizational system in place for students to access necessary materials that further their learning process. By teaching them how to be responsible for their seat sack and the materials it holds, they will grow in their independence as a Kindergarten learner.

Budget Narrative

The retail price for each seat sack is: $11.95. I need a total of 25 seat sacks. That covers 1 for each current student and 6 for the guided reading table.
