Goal
To update the switcher to ensure high quality and long-term functionality for our daily news program--The Daily Sting--which provides vital information to all students, faculty, and staff.
What will be done with my students
Students use this equipment daily to broadcast timely information to the entire school--students, faculty, and staff. The students operate every piece of equipment and communicate effectively in a live production each day. We have a student director, a sound technician, a teleprompter, two anchors, and one to two sportscasters. We have enough students to rotate jobs.
Benefits to my students
Students, staff, and faculty are continually made aware of important deadlines and beneficial opportunities to enhance their educational experience at YMS.
Students learn and improve life skills: public speaking, leadership, and technical skills.
Students gain confidence and feel a sense of accomplishment after each successful broadcast session. Many of these students are not athletes or musicians, and broadcasting provides a niche for these students.
