Goal
To provide a musical accompaniment for the chorus to sing along with. As well as a higher quality of performance, especially while performing at community events.
What will be done with my students
The teacher will be able to buy CDs with backing tracks for the chorus to sing with. These tracks often isolate the different parts for the different sections of the chorus: Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Bass. Students will have access to these recordings on an individual basis, as well as part of the full class.
Benefits to my students
Having this breakdown of parts will make it easier for students to learn the pitches associated with the lyrics. This will lead to students learning the songs quicker, which will help the director refine more details prior to a performance. Additionally, our chorus sings very well a capella, but having background music will make our performances more engaging for the audience as well as the student performers.
Budget Narrative
These CD's cost 29.99 a piece. I have requested for 8 CD's. An average choral performance is anywhere between 5 and 8 songs. So this request could bennifit one whole concert, or half of two different concert in a year.
