GradeCam is a program that allows students to complete and submit their work online. The teacher uploads the assignment and the students can choose answers in real time. This allows immediate feedback/grading so students can see their scores. This program is also great for allowing students to go back to a submitted item to review it.

Students will be introduced to one of rock and roll’s most influential pioneers—Chuck Berry. This is a continuation of my long-term goal to highlight a different pioneer of rock and roll each school year. By the end of the project in the 2025-2026 school year, students will be familiar with Chuck Berry’s life, his groundbreaking contributions, and his enduring impact on rock, blues, and rhythm and blues. They will appreciate how his innovative guitar techniques and energetic performance style paved the way for generations of musicians. Students will also engage with instruments and techniques reminiscent of those Chuck Berry popularized. The culminating session will have the students perform a simplified arrangement of his iconic song “Johnny B. Goode” using instrument replicas.
This project not only deepens the students’ musical knowledge but also reinforces key concepts such as melody, harmony, rhythm, pitch, improvisation, and small ensemble performance. The improvisational segments are intended to encourage creativity, reduce the fear of mistakes, and boost self-esteem and confidence.
In addition to these musical benefits, the project will also enrich students’ literacy skills. Aligned with Vineyards Elementary’s school improvement goals (as measured by the FAST Assessment PM3), dedicated time will be allocated for modeled and independent reading centered on the book “Chuck Berry: A Life from Beginning to End”.
An added benefit to this project is to show connections in a “Family Tree Style” from one musician to another. And how many musicians can be traced back to our featured musician from the 2024-2025 school year, Buddy Holly. Much of Holly’s inspiration came from Chuck Berry and other African American musicians. Berry’s distinctive guitar style and lyrical themes stuck with Holly and helped shape the sound of early rock & roll.

The primary goal of The Amazing Everglades Race Grant is to empower my third-grade students to set, strive for, and achieve individualized quarterly science literacy goals that integrate reading, writing, and science. These goals will be aligned with district learning standards and centered on the Florida Everglades—one of the most vital ecosystems in the world.
Through this grant, students will:
• Engage with high-quality trade books focused on Everglades-related topics, building background knowledge and fostering a love for reading.
• Set personal reading goals and track progress throughout each quarter, promoting ownership of learning and self-motivation.
• Participate in collaborative class discussions that deepen understanding of Everglades habitats, native species, and ecological importance.
• Respond to learning through structured writing tasks, reinforcing comprehension and communication skills.
• Work cooperatively with peers in hands-on science and literacy activities that encourage inquiry, teamwork, and critical thinking.
By integrating science content with literacy instruction, this program will support academic growth, environmental awareness, and student engagement. The grant will help create a classroom culture where students are inspired to explore, reflect, and take pride in their learning and their connection to the natural world.

The purpose of this project is to provide students with access to high-quality xylophones for use in the elementary music classroom. Currently, my classroom does not have enough barred instruments for students to play together, which limits their ability to fully participate in lessons and develop critical music skills. Adding xylophones will address the need for equitable access to instruments, allow for more hands-on learning, and support active music-making, collaboration, and creativity. This will also ensure that every child has the opportunity to experience music through playing, not just listening or observing.
b) Learning Goal or Academic Outcome
The learning goal of this project is to help students develop music literacy, rhythmic and melodic accuracy, and ensemble performance skills through active participation on xylophones. With more instruments available, students will be able to demonstrate their understanding of melody, harmony, and rhythm in real time. This directly supports Florida Music Education Standards (e.g., MU.1.C.1.1: Respond to music from a variety of sound sources to show awareness of steady beat, rhythm, and melody). The academic outcome is that students will strengthen critical thinking, listening, and teamwork skills, while also building confidence and joy in music-making.

Goal(s)
a) Overall Purpose and Needs Addressed
The purpose of this project is to celebrate the voices of student artists by curating a vibrant, personalized, student-centered art show that transforms their creative work into an interactive art gallery exhibition. This initiative will engage approximately 150-250 students, families, school faculty, and community members, fostering a culture of artistic expression, passion, confidence, and communication within the school and beyond.
The project addresses several key needs:
Creative Expression & Identity: Many elementary students lack opportunities to share their artistic voice with a diverse audience. This project provides a platform for self-expression, storytelling, and the celebration of diverse perspectives. For example, each student artist will present and discuss their work via a 'gallery walk' to a broad audience, further underscoring the importance of students' voice, choice, and agency in learning.
Community Connection: By inviting student peers, family members, faculty, and local partners into the exhibition space, the project strengthens school-community relationships and builds shared pride in student achievement.
Equity & Visibility: The museum-style 'gallery walk' format ensures that every child's work is honored and displayed with care, promoting inclusivity and validating the creative contributions of all learners.
b) This project supports multiple academic and developmental outcomes:
Visual Arts Standards: Students will engage in a holistic artistic process—from ideation and creation to curation and reflection—aligning with state and national visual arts standards.
Communication & Literacy: Through artist statements, gallery labels, and reflective writing, students will develop skills in descriptive language, narrative structure, and self-advocacy.
Critical Thinking & Design: Learners will explore artistic techniques, thematic connections, and spatial design as they prepare their work for public display.
Social-Emotional Growth: The experience cultivates confidence, empathy, and a sense of agency as students see their work valued by both peers and adults.
Ultimately, this project transforms art-making into a powerful vehicle for voice, visibility, and community celebration—laying the foundation for lifelong creative engagement.

The primary goal of this project is to develop reusable and movable scenic elements—such as scenic flats and provide specialty orders of costumes—that will enhance staging flexibility and visual appeal for both middle and high school theater productions. This initiative also aims to provide hands-on, interdisciplinary educational experiences by actively involving theater and visual arts students in the design, and painting of scenic components. Through this collaboration, students will deepen their understanding of technical theater concepts such as dimension, proportion, and visual composition while fostering creative problem-solving and innovation in scenic design. The project supports a safe, durable, and adaptable scenic infrastructure that can be reused across multiple productions and years. Additionally, it aligns with Florida State Standards including TH.912.C.1.2 (using design to support theme and mood), TH.912.S.2.1 (collaborating in design and execution), TH.68.S.3.4 (developing foundational technical theater skills at the middle school level), and VA.912.C.1.5 (applying visual art knowledge in interdisciplinary contexts).

a) Overall Purpose and Needs Addressed
The purpose of this hands-on, experiential learning-based project is to empower elementary students to explore entrepreneurship by designing their own original theme park business. It addresses the need for early financial literacy, creative problem-solving, collaborative innovation, and career awareness (e.g., advertising, marketing, architecture). Many students lack access to real-world applications of academic content. This initiative fills that gap by integrating business concepts into a hands-on, interdisciplinary experience that fosters creativity, curiosity, and collaboration. Located in Florida, many students are already familiar with theme parks, providing them with a foundational understanding and landscape upon which to build their ideal theme park. Students will engage in real-world applications of a STEAM-based curriculum with the inquiry cycle serving as a pedagogical framework. Students will present their theme parks to an audience of 100-150 students, families, school faculty, and community members, fostering a spirit of entrepreneurship, artistic expression, passion, confidence, and communication within the school and beyond.
This project supports diverse learners by offering differentiated roles (e.g., designer, marketer, engineer), visual aids, sentence starters, and hands-on materials. It fosters engagement, SEL, and academic growth, especially for students who thrive in creative, collaborative environments. It also builds foundational career awareness and financial literacy, aligning with school goals for enrichment and equity.
The project’s learning goals and academic outcomes are thoughtfully aligned with Florida’s Entrepreneurship, Mathematics, and Gifted Standards. Below is a selection of the benchmarks addressed, though this list is not exhaustive:
MA.4.M.1.1 Select and use appropriate tools to measure attributes of objects.
G.K12.2.3.1d Questions Scrutinized - Accomplish: Explore the nature of questioning, always aware that better questions deliver the potential for more complete information.
G.K12.5.3.1a Group Dynamics - Know: Adhere to the established rules of interaction in accepting and respecting consensus.
SS.4.FL.1.7 Entrepreneurs are people who start new businesses. Entrepreneurs do not know if their new companies will be successful and earn a profit. Identify ways in which starting a business is risky for entrepreneurs.
SS.4.FL.2.1 Explain that economic wants are desires that can be satisfied by consuming a good, a service, or a leisure activity.
SS.4.FL.2.4 Discuss that whenever people buy something, they incur an opportunity cost. Opportunity cost is the value of the next best alternative that is given up when a person makes a choice.
SS.4.FL.2.7 Planning for spending can help people make informed choices. Develop a budget plan for spending, saving, and managing income.
b) Learning Goals and Academic Outcomes
Students will:
Understand basic economic principles (goods/services, wants/needs, profit/loss, budgeting, pricing, and how theme parks operate as businesses)
Develop and pitch a business plan–Students will pitch their business plan presentations to mock investor panels
Apply math, writing, and design skills to create a theme park prototype
Create theme park maps, ride designs, signage, and written business plans
Develop teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills
Demonstrate how they support and respond to group work, role assignments (e.g., CEO, designer, marketer), and peer feedback
Develop skills necessary for creative expression through posters, models, digital slides, and branding materials
While Florida’s standards don’t label “advertising” and “marketing” as standalone strands, they are embedded in economic and entrepreneurship benchmarks. Your project can address these through:
These standards support activities such as:
Designing logos and mascots
Creating persuasive advertisements and slogans
Planning marketing strategies for their theme park
Pitching their business to a mock investor panel

The overall purpose of this grant is to give students the opportunity to access the curriculum via engaging online apps. Teachers have a need to reach all learners, and students have a need to be able to understand the content they are being taught. By immersing various online apps with the hands-on teaching, students will have more opportunities to grasp the educational content in a method that works best for them. This grant will help to support specifically two of the school's guiding beliefs: 'children learn best and progress in environments that support their individual developmental needs' and 'education today requires new ways of thinking and working together to ensure success for all'.

This grant request seeks funding to purchase LCD tablets for use in a first-grade classroom. These tablets will serve as interactive tools that allow young learners to demonstrate their understanding in creative, engaging, and developmentally appropriate ways. In early elementary education, students often struggle to express their knowledge through traditional methods such as writing or verbal explanation. LCD tablets offer a low-tech, screen-free solution that enables students to draw, write, and solve problems in a tactile and visual manner. These tools are especially beneficial for emerging writers, English language learners, and students with diverse learning needs.

The overall purpose of the Wonder Readers' Marketplace is to foster a love of reading and improve literacy outcomes by providing students with meaningful incentives tied to their reading achievements. This project addresses the need for increased student engagement in reading, especially among reluctant or struggling readers. By connecting reading success with tangible rewards, the program creates a fun and motivating environment that encourages consistent reading habits and celebrates academic growth.
It also supports broader school goals by:
Reinforcing the importance of literacy across all grade levels.
Promoting equity by ensuring all students have access to rewards based on effort and achievement.
Aligning with our school theme, “Be the Eighth Wonder,” by inspiring students to discover the wonder of books and learning.
The project directly supports key academic outcomes in literacy, including:
Reading comprehension: Students must understand and retain information to pass AR quizzes.
Vocabulary development: Exposure to diverse texts enhances language skills.
Fluency and stamina: Regular reading builds confidence and endurance.
Goal-setting and self-monitoring: Students track their progress and strive to improve.
These outcomes contribute to overall academic success and prepare students for future learning by building foundational literacy skills in a joyful and engaging way.

The purpose of this project is to give my English Language Learners at Shadowlawn the tools they need to succeed in the classroom. Shadowlawn is a Title I school with a primarily low-income, ELL population. Many of my students start school with very little formal education, and one of the greatest joys of teaching here is seeing them grow from those early struggles into confident readers who truly love learning.
This project will directly support their growth by addressing decoding, vocabulary, and comprehension gaps. The ScanMarker pens will give students immediate access to translations and read-aloud features, which will help them feel more confident in class. The ultimate goal is for my students to strengthen their fluency and comprehension so they can fully participate in grade-level lessons without feeling like they are falling behind.

1. Goal(s)
a) Purpose & Need
The purpose of this project is to create a more inclusive and supportive classroom environment for students with sensory processing needs. Many children struggle with self-regulation, focus, and emotional balance when they experience overstimulation or under-stimulation in the classroom. Without appropriate tools, these challenges can lead to frustration, anxiety, and missed learning opportunities. This project seeks to provide sensory-friendly resources that help students regulate their bodies and minds so they can engage more fully in learning.
b) Learning Goal/Academic Outcome
By reducing sensory barriers, students will be better able to concentrate on instruction, participate actively, and demonstrate growth in core academic skills. Specifically, the project supports goals of improved attention, stronger self-regulation, and greater access to the curriculum, which are essential for academic achievement in literacy, mathematics, and other subject areas.

The goal of this grant is to strengthen and expand my mission as the School Counselor at Sabal Palm Elementary School (SPE). While aligned with the CCPS District School Counseling Mission—to identify and reduce barriers to learning while promoting student success—my personal mission focuses on ensuring every child feels happy, safe, and eager to come to school each day. I believe this foundation begins not only at home, but also within the classroom, with the support and encouragement of our dedicated teachers.
In the past, I have fostered staff well-being through initiatives such as Self-Care Bingo, offered to SPE staff during seasonal holiday breaks. For the 2025–2026 school year, I hope to continue this initiative along with 'Coffee with the Counselor.' This program will provide a meaningful space to connect with teachers, faculty, and staff, strengthen partnerships with outside organizations, such as Champions for Learning, and reinforce the well-being and morale of our educators. By creating opportunities for teachers to feel valued, supported, and inspired, we not only honor their extraordinary efforts but also strengthen the entire school community. Poinciana Elementary introduced last year a new positive behavior system to our staff and students. Our attempt was to take the school's traditional expectations and merge them with some of Leader in Me and PBIS elements to create a uniquely 'Poinciana' culture.
Within our main goal, we had our staff and students adapt a more unified positive attitude and behavior culture on campus by incorporating the school-wide positive behavior incentive program; The Peli-CAN Way. This program provided year round guidance for behavior expectations and mindset. Students were positively recognized for their demonstration of positive behavior and mindset through a variety of incentives.
This contributed to a decrease in discipline and increase in resiliency and leadership.

School libraries are often seen as the hub of the campus. It is important that this space
is inviting, engaging and a great place to visit. Furthermore, providing our student
visitors with incentives for reading is critical to enhancing reading time and for instilling a love of reading. Last year our students collectively earned over 25,000 Accelerated
Reader points. This amazing accomplishment creating excitement on campus, pushing
students to read more to add to their accrual of points. Reading incentive programs can
also help to build momentum for many children, especially reluctant readers, by acting
as a 'spark' to overcome initial resistance.
The more students read, the more experience they will have with text. From decoding
to syllabicating and from learning vocabulary to building their comprehension, the
literacy skills are endless. When students become better readers, their self-esteem is
improved and so is their dedication to their studies. Through the earning of -tshirts as
incentives for reaching grade level milestones, our students can show off their success
and motivate their peers to do the same.

We are doing Descendants in the fall and Matilda in the spring. For costumes alone, it is $600 per show, and then I am wanting to use the remaining $400 per show to help offset our set production costs and any other props we may need to buy for the shows. The learning goals that are attached to this project are that students are actively engaging in how to produce a theater production. Students will be learning how to inventory costumes and learn how to develop, fundraise and put on a successful production.

The Sunshine State Young Readers Award (SSYRA) Program is a statewide reading motivational program for students in grades 3 through 8. The purpose of the SSYRA Program is to encourage students to read independently for pleasure and to read books that are on, above, and below their reading level in order to improve their reading fluency. Sunshine State books are selected for their wide appeal, literary value, varied genres, curriculum connections, and/or multicultural representation. The SSYRA committee is comprised of 20 qualified school librarians located throughout the state of Florida, subdivided into two committees- grades 3-5 and grades 6-8.
Media specialists representing all districts across the state work with integrity and heart to curate great lists each year, with the goal for each and every one of Florida’s students to find three books they want to read and with which they can connect. That’s all it takes for students to vote for their favorites: read at least three and vote. We are especially proud of these lists, knowing they are for our students first and believe that students will find at least three to read this year. We know that not every book is for every student, but we want every student to have the chance to find the book they need, whether it be a window, a mirror, or a door to another world.

a) The overall purpose of this project is to support the developmental, educational, and functional needs of special needs preschoolers by integrating gross motor equipment into daily instructional routines and learning environments. This project addresses the critical need for purposeful movement opportunities that are developmentally appropriate and tailored to the diverse physical, cognitive, sensory, and behavioral profiles of young children with special needs. Children in this population often experience delays or deficits in motor planning, coordination, balance, strength, spatial awareness, and sensory processing. Without targeted interventions and daily opportunities to develop these foundational skills, they may face greater challenges in academic readiness, self-regulation, communication, and social interaction. Gross motor equipment—such as balance beams, climbing structures, trampolines, tunnels, scooters, or obstacle courses—serves as both a therapeutic and educational tool, providing a structured way for children to engage in physical activity that improves core strength, coordination, sensory integration, and attention. Additionally, consistent gross motor activity helps children with special needs to reduce anxiety, increase focus, enhance engagement, and develop the body awareness necessary for more advanced functional and academic tasks. By embedding these tools into the daily routine, the project ensures that students are not only meeting physical milestones but are also better prepared for the classroom environment, thus supporting their overall development and well-being.
b)The primary learning goal of this project is to promote whole-child development, with a specific focus on physical development as a foundation for cognitive, behavioral, and social-emotional growth. This project directly addresses early learning standards and developmental domains such as:
1. Physical Development & Motor Skills: Enhancing gross motor skills such as walking, jumping, balancing, and climbing, which are foundational for later fine motor tasks (e.g., writing, cutting).
2. Cognitive Development: Improving attention span, working memory, and problem-solving through structured physical tasks and movement-based learning.
3. Self-Regulation & Executive Functioning: Helping students manage transitions, follow multi-step directions, and regulate emotional responses through physical activity.
4. Social Development: Encouraging turn-taking, cooperation, and communication during group gross motor activities.
Gross motor play also supports early literacy and numeracy development. For example, hopping from number to number or navigating obstacle courses based on color/shape prompts integrates academic learning with physical activity, catering to multiple learning styles. In summary, this project ensures that special needs preschoolers are not only physically active but are also learning through movement—an evidence-based practice that supports inclusive, engaging, and differentiated instruction. Ultimately, the integration of gross motor equipment helps bridge developmental gaps and sets students on a path toward academic and lifelong success.

Many of my students require assignments, assessments, and state tests to be read aloud in order to demonstrate their true knowledge and skills. Without headphones, these accommodations are limited and difficult to provide in a way that protects student privacy and minimizes classroom distractions.
In addition, chargers are a constant need in the classroom. Many ESE students forget or misplace their chargers, or come to class with devices at low battery. When this happens, they lose valuable instructional and assessment time because they are unable to use their required technology for learning or testing. a) What is the overall purpose of this project and what need(s) does it address?
The purpose of this project is to upgrade an existing classroom aquaponics system to provide a more robust, sustainable, and engaging platform for science instruction. The original system was built using repurposed and makeshift materials as a pilot to determine whether aquaponics could enhance student understanding of middle school chemistry concepts aligned with Florida’s science standards. After two full years of implementation and data collection, results have demonstrated that this approach not only deepens conceptual understanding but also significantly boosts student performance.
This need for an upgrade is driven by the strong outcomes already achieved. On the most recent State Science Assessment, 70% of my students achieved a passing score, compared to the statewide average of 49%. Among English Language Learners, my classroom saw a 38% pass rate—more than double the state average of 18%. All of my advanced students (100%) passed. These gains are particularly impressive given the challenges of teaching complex chemistry concepts to a diverse student population using a makeshift system.
To maintain and build upon these gains, the aquaponics system must now be upgraded with durable, classroom-appropriate materials. A more reliable setup will allow for broader instructional use, better accommodate growing class sizes, and minimize instructional disruptions due to equipment failure. The project addresses the need for equitable access to high-quality, real-world STEM learning tools that are proven to elevate academic achievement.
b) What learning goals or academic outcomes does the project address?
This project addresses student mastery of key Florida middle school chemistry standards, including SC.8.P.8.7 (atomic theory), SC.8.P.9.1 (law of conservation of mass), and SC.8.P.9.2 (chemical and physical changes). The upgraded aquaponics system will allow students to explore these standards through direct application—monitoring chemical reactions in nutrient cycling, testing water quality, and observing real-time changes in matter within a living ecosystem.
Through this hands-on approach, my students develop a deeper understanding of scientific processes, data collection, and experimental design. The strong results from the previous year demonstrate that this method not only supports standards mastery but also improves performance across diverse student groups. The upgraded system will ensure consistent access to these learning experiences, resulting in higher academic achievement, stronger critical thinking skills, and a more equitable learning environment for all students.

Bacvkground Information
Rainwater Systems...
~Protect natural ecosystems: By using collected OMS water, students will reduce the need to extract water from rivers, lakes, or underground aquifers, preserving those ecosystems. This is particularly useful during dry seasons or droughts, both of which students will be learning about this year.
~Reduce water bills, especially in homes or buildings that use large amounts of water for gardens, flushing toilets, or cleaning. We will utilize our rainwater system with our Gardyn System- a hydroponic indoor gardening system that students will maintain and grow vegetables, fruits and herbs to take home to their families. This will add even more sustainability to our system and will show my students tangible ways to become more self-sufficient! In addition, collected rainwater is often better for plants (it’s soft and free from chlorine or salts).
~ Rainwater Collection also helps mitigate flooding and erosion and it encouraged by Collier County. My students will be comparing areas around campus to make observations about erosion in areas that have collection and those that do not.
This project will cover many learning standards of 6th grade Earth Science, including weather and water distribution, erosional processes, human impacts on our local environment and sustainability practices. We will also use the system to extract data, improve student critical analysis and make connections across Earth systems . Students will also learn how to illustrate our data in various charts and graphs.

In 2025, Naples, FL experienced an extreme drought: This past year's dry season was labeled the worst since 2001, with much of Collier County experiencing 'Extreme Drought' conditions (level D3 on the U.S. Drought Monitor scale).
I continue to believe that it is of the utmost importance to show my students (every year with this system) a more sustainable method of produce harvesting.
The Florida 6th Grade Earth Science Learning Goals that will strengthened by the utilization of the Gardyn System are:
1. SC.6.E.7.4 – Differentiate and describe the components of the water cycle, including evaporation, transpiration, condensation, precipitation, infiltration, and runoff.
-Students will observe how rainwater moves through real-world systems (e.g., runoff and collection), reinforcing this concept beyond textbooks.
2. SC.6.E.7.5 – Explain how energy provided by the sun influences global patterns of atmospheric movement and the temperature differences between air, water, and land.
-Students will analyze how solar energy affects rainfall and water collection, helping them connect climate and weather patterns to water availability.
3. SC.6.E.7.6 – Differentiate between weather and climate.
- By tracking local rainfall data over time including the wet and dry season in Florida, students will understand short-term weather events vs. long-term climate trends.
4. SC.6.N.1.1 – Define a problem from the 6th-grade curriculum, use appropriate reference materials to support scientific understanding, plan and carry out scientific investigations…
→-Students will engage in problem-solving (how to conserve water), research solutions, and collect real data from the system they help build.
5. SC.6.E.7.5 Identify the impact of humans on Earth (this includes water quality, changing the flow of water and resource management, particularly Florida environmental resources). – Students will analyze how human choices affect water, soil, and energy resources as well as learn the value of water conservation that benefit their community and environment.
6. SC.6.E.7.8 Describe ways human beings protect themselves from hazardous weather and how technology helps scientists plan for and respond to natural disasters.
- Students can explore how indoor farming like hydroponics reduces reliance on weather patterns and can support food stability in climate-vulnerable areas.
7. SC.6.E.7.9 Describe how the composition and structure of the atmosphere protects life and insulates the planet.
-Students can connect plant growth to environmental conditions like light, temperature, and CO₂, linking atmospheric roles in plant health.

This grant seeks funding to purchase color ink for a classroom color printer used in a middle school Language Arts class. The use of color printing will support differentiated instruction, improve student engagement, and enhance the presentation of student work and instructional materials.
Color printing enables us to create high-impact visual aids such as anchor charts, grammar guides, writing rubrics, and reading comprehension organizers that are easier for students to interpret and remember. For students who are visual learners, color can be the key to unlocking understanding in areas such as figurative language, plot structure, or essay organization. For example, printing a persuasive essay outline with color-coded sections (thesis in blue, evidence in green, analysis in red) helps students visually process and internalize writing structure more effectively than black-and-white text alone.
Additionally, color printing brings student work to life. When students are able to publish their writing, poems, book reports, or creative projects with color elements—such as cover art, photos, or graphics—it fosters a sense of pride, ownership, and professionalism. This is especially important in Language Arts, where self-expression and presentation are critical components of student success. Color ink also allows us to create engaging bulletin boards and displays of student writing that celebrate literacy in a way that feels exciting and inclusive.
Beyond student projects, color printing supports differentiation. It allows the teacher to create multiple versions of assignments with visual cues or scaffolds, helping to meet the diverse needs of learners, including English Language Learners (ELLs) and students with IEPs or 504 plans. A visually organized handout can reduce confusion and build student confidence.
Ultimately, this grant would allow us to make full use of the color printer already available in the classroom—an existing resource that is underutilized due to the high cost of replacement ink. With a modest investment in color ink, we can amplify our teaching strategies, increase student motivation, and create a more dynamic and inclusive classroom environment centered on literacy and learning.

a) Purpose & Needs
The purpose of this project is to create a classroom where students feel excited to show up, do their best, and treat each other with kindness. Every day, students earn tickets for positive choices, which lead to raffles, prizes, and special moments like “Lunch with Mrs. Steele.” These simple rewards mean so much — students light up at the chance to share pizza and laughter with their teacher. Many middle schoolers need that extra encouragement and sense of belonging, and this program makes sure every child feels seen and celebrated.
b) Learning Goal / Academic Outcome
When students feel valued, they learn better. This project motivates them to stay focused, participate more, and take pride in their work. It also helps them build confidence, practice teamwork, and develop the positive habits that carry into all areas of life. At its heart, this project isn’t just about pizza or prizes — it’s about creating a joyful, supportive space where students can thrive academically and personally.

My current library lacks depth in certain genres and student-requested topics such as poetry, free verse, historical fiction, nonfiction, biographies, and STEM-related texts. By building a more inclusive and genre-rich collection, I can more effectively support student curiosity and choice.
This project directly supports my grade-level ELA standards by encouraging genre exploration and independent reading. As students study and analyze different genres across 6th–8th grade, the expanded library will allow them to continue engaging with genres they enjoy independently. This will promote deeper understanding of genre characteristics, foster critical thinking, and strengthen literacy skills. a) The overall purpose of this project is to provide students with immediate access to essential classroom tools—such as hanging folders, Post-its, colored cards, colored folders, and a student mailbox—directly at their group’s movable cart. This addresses the need to reduce disruptions, eliminate time spent retrieving materials, and create a more equitable system where every student has the resources needed to participate fully in class. By placing supplies at their seats, the project fosters a learning environment that is more organized, efficient, and student-centered.
b) The academic outcome this project supports is improved student engagement and productivity in mathematics. When supplies are easily accessible, students can focus their energy on note-taking, problem-solving, and collaborative group work rather than on finding or waiting for materials. The project also encourages the development of strong organizational habits, accountability for their own learning tools, and consistency in keeping up with assignments, all of which contribute to greater mastery of mathematical concepts and improved academic performance.

The purpose of this project is to provide students with exceptionalities a real-world, hands-on experience to develop their employability and independent living skills. While our curriculum focuses on workplace readiness, it can be challenging for students to fully understand what positive workplace behavior looks like without seeing it in action. This project addresses the need for experiential learning by taking students into the community to engage in 'secret shopping' activities, where they will observe, analyze, and discuss characteristics of strong employees and customer service interactions.
Many of our students face barriers to employment due to limited work experience and difficulty generalizing classroom lessons to real-world situations. By observing actual workplace environments, students will gain a deeper understanding of expectations, build their confidence, and develop the social and problem-solving skills necessary for long-term success.

The overall purpose of this project is to recognize and celebrate students who achieve success in earning industry certifications through their Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. These certifications are a critical step toward workforce readiness and post-secondary success. By providing t-shirts as a tangible form of recognition, this project addresses the need for student motivation, encouragement, and visibility of academic and career-focused accomplishments. Many students work diligently to master the skills and knowledge required to pass these rigorous exams, yet often receive limited recognition. The t-shirts serve to affirm their hard work, boost confidence, and inspire a positive culture of achievement within the school community.
This project supports the academic outcome of successful completion and mastery of industry certification exams aligned with Florida state standards and CCPS CTE curriculum goals. These certifications validate students' proficiency in job-related skills and are recognized by employers and post-secondary institutions. By incentivizing certification success, the project promotes engagement in course content, mastery of technical skills, and long-term college and career readiness. It also supports soft skills such as goal-setting, persistence, and pride in achievement—critical components of lifelong learning.

The overall purpose of this project is to provide students with organized, personalized workbooks that support their preparation for industry certification exams. By using a binding machine, I will be able to professionally bind the custom workbooks I’ve created, which include targeted study materials, practice questions, vocabulary, and exam strategies aligned with certification standards. This project addresses student needs such as the following:
• Organization: Many students struggle with keeping their notes and study materials together. The workbook will consolidate everything into one, easy-to-manage resource.
• Consistency: A bound workbook ensures all students have access to the same high-quality content and structure for their learning.
• Engagement: Having a personalized, physical resource increases student ownership and motivation, helping them feel more prepared and confident.
• Equity: Not all students have the resources to print or organize materials at home. This project ensures every student is equally equipped to succeed.
This project directly supports the academic goal of improving student performance on industry certification exams by reinforcing content mastery, study skills, and test-taking strategies. The workbooks are designed to mirror the certification standards and include scaffolded practice activities to build student proficiency.
Additionally, this project supports key academic skills such as note-taking, reviewing content, organizing information, and applying knowledge in a structured way. The expected outcome is higher student achievement on certification assessments, increased confidence, and stronger preparation for college and career pathways.

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is especially important for special needs students because it provides a consistent, structured, and supportive environment that helps them succeed both academically and socially. Many students with special needs benefit from clear expectations, predictable routines, and positive reinforcement, which PBIS emphasizes. This framework helps reduce disruptive behavior by teaching and rewarding appropriate behaviors rather than focusing solely on punishment. For students who may struggle with communication, emotional regulation, or social interaction, PBIS creates a safe and inclusive atmosphere where they can build confidence, develop crucial life skills, and feel supported by their peers and educators. Overall, PBIS promotes equity by meeting students where they are and helping them grow in a respectful and understanding setting.
