This project transforms our Spanish I students into language ambassadors, empowering them to become peer teachers for students with special needs in the MC unit. They won't just be reinforcing their own skills; they'll be building bridges of communication and friendship. Through hands-on activities, from reading vibrant bilingual books to creating engaging thematic stations, our students will unlock the joy of Spanish for their peers, demonstrating their mastery in an impactful way!

This project will transform our Spanish students into language guides, offering an incredible opportunity for students in the MC Unit to have an additional related arts class.
For many of these students, Spanish is a language they hear at home, but they may not have the chance to see it in a formal learning setting. Our students will use hands-on, thematic activities to help them see and work with the words they already know. Together, they will solve puzzles, explore, create, and imagine while learning all the vocabulary related to the lesson. These are not just lessons; they are adventures that will spark a love of learning.
By pairing our students, we’re creating a space where they can connect, share, and grow together. This initiative will not only deepen their academic understanding of Spanish but also instill a lasting love for the language through friendship. Together, they will learn that language is something that can bring us all closer.
Hola Amigo is a box designed to help children learn Spanish in a fun, engaging, and play-based way.
Each box has a specific theme, such as "the bakery" or "the airport." The contents are curated to support bilingual learning in a hands-on way.
What the box contains:
1. A thematic bilingual picture board book and often a non-fiction reader, both in English and Spanish, to help build vocabulary and reading comprehension.
2. Wooden Playset and Figurines: These are high-quality, reusable toys that encourage imaginative play while teaching vocabulary.
3. Dry-Erase Activity Book: This book contains reusable activities for practicing writing, tracing letters, and engaging in educational games.
4. Thematic Games and Puzzles: The boxes often include unique games, puzzles, or activity cards that reinforce new vocabulary and concepts.
