Goal(s)

We are requesting funding to support a grade level, end-of-year project called the Literary Food Truck Carnival, an interdisciplinary celebration of literacy, creativity, and collaboration. Students will design and present “Literary Food Trucks” based on novels read at the end of the year. These interactive booths will feature themed menus, all aligned to English Language Arts (ELA) standards.

Funding will provide essential materials to create an engaging room transformation s that make literature come alive for students.

Project Description

Our school is committed to student-centered learning and creative approaches to ELA instruction. Throughout the year, students engage in deep literary analysis, character exploration, and writing activities that build critical thinking and communication skills. This project extends those experiences into a culminating showcase that integrates literacy with performance, design, and real-world skills like marketing and teamwork.

The Literary Carnival is a collaborative project involving 6 ELA teachers and 6 classrooms, impacting over 450 students in grade 6.

Students will showcase their learning and understanding of a novel by creating and developing a Food Truck and menu connected with a theme or character.

The funds are used to create an innovative space that is decorated for students to enjoy presentations.

Purpose of Funding

The money will go directly to the implementation of a classroom room transformation and all materials will be purchased through Amazon Prime.
