Goal(s)

The goal is to enhance student learning using educational technology. Through the use of the iPad as well as technology programs adopted by Collier County Public Schools, all first grade students will explore many reading, language arts, math, science, and social studies standards independently or collaboratively through technology.

Project Description

In first grade, students are required to have an abundance of skills using technology in order to be successful with the curriculum as well as testing. Having iPads in the classroom enhance student learning, empower students to take a chance, and increase confidence. In the classroom iPads become an additional resource for students and teachers to meet the needs of the curriculum as well as allow students to be comfortable with technology before taking state mandated tests. In our classroom students will be using the iPad for iReady, Type to Learn, Redbird Math, Discovery Education, Word, Power Point etc. and many more across curriculum resources.

Expected Outcomes

By having the additional technology resources more students are able to access the programs for longer time to build their knowledge in each subject area while the teacher gives small group instruction to those to reinforce skills.

Purpose of Funding

2 classroom iPads, and dual layer protective cases. Also, Air watch must be loaded and purchased for each iPad in order to be used in the county. Any contribution would be greatly appreciated.
