The LEGO competition encourages creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork as students work collaboratively to complete real-world missions on a themed playing field. The ultimate purpose is to empower young people to become innovative thinkers and collaborative leaders.
The goal is to encourage creativity, developing computational thinking, applying math and science concepts and enhancing problem-solving skills.
Learning Aids - Sunshine state book sets, robotics kits, puzzle boards, science models, engineering supplies, etc.
The LEGO Prime Spike kits are used by our middle school students to create robots that can complete missions. The students will then bring their robots to our district wide competition. This project will help to ensure that all students have access to the robotics kits.
Students will improve their critical thinking, teamwork and communication skills by working as a team to complete LEGO challenges. We will measure these outcomes by the end of the year competition, as well as throughout the school year.
This grant will be used to help students work on creative and critical thinking, teamwork, engineering and coding.
