Goal(s)

To provide our English Language Learner students with a comfortable, updated and inviting area in our classroom, where the interaction can be non-threatening, engaging and interactive.

Category

Class Furniture - Carpets, transitional seating/desks, etc.

Project Description

Our English Language Learner classroom serves as a common space where our limited English speakers are able to enhance their speaking, literacy and language skills. Having a carpet in the space will offer a flexible seating option while supporting our diverse learners. This addition will allow our team to closely monitor sounds and oral movements as our unique students acquire speaking skills.

Expected Outcomes

Having a space that allows for us to work in close proximity of our English Language Learners will not only support acquisition , but provide more personalized instruction and build rapport. Relationship building accelerates growth which is our ultimate goal. This added seating option can be a powerful tool that will positively influence academic performance, social dynamics and overall classroom climate.

Purpose of Funding

Cost will purchase a carpet and is expected to serve its purpose for a minimum of 5 years.
