The purpose of this project is to provide sensory tools and organized storage solutions that will support students with disabilities in developing self regulation, focus, and emotional well being. Many of our students struggle with attention, anxiety, and sensory processing challenges. These tools will offer healthy outlets for calming, focus, and engagement, while also reducing behaviors that interfere with learning.

Additionally, having durable plastic storage bins will ensure that these materials are organized, accessible, and safe. An orderly environment not only makes the tools easier for students and teachers to use but also promotes independence, responsibility, and consistency in routines.

Project Description

This project will be used to create a sensory area that supports students with disabilities, while also serving as a calming space for any student who may need a common area to self regulate.

Expected Outcomes

This project will improve students' ability to self-regulate, focus, and engage in learning by providing access to a dedicated sensory area organized calming tools. As a result, students are expected to show decreased disruptive behaviors, increased time on task, and improved emotional well-being.

Outcomes will be measured through teacher observations, behavior and engagement tracking, and documentation of students' use of sensory strategies over time.

Purpose of Funding

Grant funds will be used to purchase sensory tools such as fidgets, textured tools, and other calming materials to provide students with safe and appropriate ways to self regulate and stay engaged in learning. By aligning sensory tools with organized storage, the funds will ensure that resources are consistently available, well maintained, and effectively integrated into daily routines. Students will have the option of using a personal storage bin in the classroom or visiting the sensory area for support.
