Project Description

The students will earn classroom currency through having good behavior, and through demonstrating life skills. Weekly the store will be open and students will be able to spend or save their earnings. Items in the store will include snacks, sensory friendly items, gift cards, and other items based upon the students interests.
The students will be counting and budgeting their classroom earnings, making choices and evaluating wants and needs, and practicing social skills such as waiting their turns and polite exchanges. This will serve as an incentive program but also as a functional learning experience for daily living skills.

Expected Outcomes

From this project I hope it increases engagement/motivation, and reinforces positive behavior. I also hope it helps my students apply their math skills, communication, and decision making skills in a meaningful context. Lastly it will allow students to practice real world skills that prepare them for life beyond the classroom and school.

Purpose of Funding
