Project Description

We plan to host professional Naples Philharmonic musicians as guest clinicians for our concert band students. These musicians will lead masterclasses, sectionals, and workshops focusing on technique, ensemble playing, and musical interpretation. By engaging directly with professionals, students will receive mentorship and guidance that mirrors the experience of private lessons and summer intensives—without the prohibitive cost. The program will be integrated into our school’s music curriculum to reach the entire band.

Expected Outcomes

Increased Access: All students in the concert band will participate in the clinician workshops, ensuring equitable exposure. Measurement: Attendance and participation records will confirm 100% student access.
    •    Skill Development: Students will show improved technical ability, ensemble cohesion, and confidence in performance. Measurement: Pre- and post-clinic assessments (teacher rubrics on tone, rhythm accuracy, and ensemble balance) and performance recordings will track growth.
    •    Inspiration and Aspiration: Students will report increased motivation and interest in continuing their musical studies. Measurement: Post-program student surveys and reflection forms will capture changes in attitudes, goals, and self-confidence.
    •    Community Impact: Concerts will reflect the enhanced skills and enthusiasm of the band, strengthening school and community pride. Measurement: Audience feedback surveys and attendance figures at performances will help gauge community response.

Purpose of Funding

Our purpose is to hire instructors from the Naples Philharmonic whose hourly rate is approx. $100/hr.
We would like guest instruction focusing on the 6 concert instrument sections, servicing the concert band (freshman/sophomores) and symphonic band (juniors and seniors)
