Goal(s)

The goal of this project is to provide a classroom set of laptop chargers so students always have the ability to keep their devices charged and ready for learning. This ensures that lost, broken, or forgotten chargers do not prevent participation in instruction, assessments, or digital activities. By removing this barrier, students will be able to fully engage in lessons, complete assignments on time, and build essential academic and digital literacy skills.

Project Description

This project will fund the purchase of a classroom set of compatible laptop chargers. The chargers will be stored in a designated area and available for students to use during the school day when their personal chargers are lost, broken, or forgotten. Students will be able to borrow a charger as needed to ensure their laptops remain powered and usable for instruction, assignments, and assessments. Having chargers readily available will remove a daily barrier to learning by ensuring every student has access to a charged laptop. This benefits not only the individual student but the entire class, as it reduces disruptions and keeps the pace of instruction consistent. It also promotes equity by ensuring that all students, regardless of circumstances at home, have the same access to digital learning opportunities. With this resource in place, students will be better prepared to engage in classroom activities, complete assignments, and build the digital skills necessary for academic success. 

 

Expected Outcomes

With this project, students will always have the ability to keep their laptops charged, ensuring they can fully participate in digital lessons, review games, and collaborative activities with their peers. When students arrive without working chargers, their ability to learn and review alongside classmates is limited, which impacts both their individual progress and group learning. Providing chargers will reduce lost instructional time, increase engagement, and create a more equitable classroom where every student can actively participate in technology-based instruction. Outcomes will be measured through observable changes in the classroom, including fewer disruptions caused by uncharged laptops, stronger participation in digital lessons and review games, and improved assignment completion rates. I will also track charger usage to show how often students benefit from this resource and document the positive impact on daily learning. 

 

Purpose of Funding

The grant funds will be used to purchase a classroom set of 24 compatible laptop chargers for student use. These chargers will supplement lost, broken, or forgotten chargers so that students always have access to a charged laptop during the school day. This purchase directly supports the project goal of ensuring every student can fully participate in digital lessons, review games, and assessments without being limited by a dead device. By funding these chargers, the grant will provide a long-lasting classroom resource that removes barriers to learning, promotes equity, and maximizes instructional time.
