Project Description

Middle school students are at a critical age where positive reinforcement and recognition can make a big difference in building strong learning habits. In my classroom, I strive to maintain high academic and behavioral expectations, but I also believe students should be rewarded when they demonstrate responsibility, teamwork, perseverance, and curiosity. Small prizes, raffle drawings, and classroom incentives help reinforce these positive behaviors. With grant support, I can create a more consistent, meaningful reward system for my students.

Expected Outcomes

The use incentives will encourage positive behavior, teamwork, and responsibility. There will be a “Science Rewards” system where students earn raffle tickets for demonstrating positive behavior, showing effort, completing assignments, and helping peers. I will also offer larger prizes once per quarter for consistent effort and achievement. In this Science class, we will celebrate students publicly to encourage a positive classroom culture where success is recognized.

Purpose of Funding

The grant funds will improve student behavior and classroom management. It will also increase motivation to meet expectations and put forth effort in science class. This will help to build a stronger classroom community where positive choices are recognized and celebrated.
