The overall purpose of this project is to provide reliable access to color printer ink for students with special needs in order to create engaging, accessible, and differentiated instructional materials. Many of our students rely on visual supports, such as color-coded schedules, behavior charts, learning aids, and visual cues, to support their comprehension, communication, and daily routines. Currently, the lack of consistent access to color printing limits our ability to meet these unique learning needs effectively.
School supplies - Markers, paints, paper, crayons, clay, pencils, sharpies, modeling dough, etc.
This project directly addresses the need for equitable educational resources by ensuring that students with cognitive, developmental, or communication challenges receive materials tailored to their learning styles. By incorporating color into their instructional materials, we aim to improve student engagement, increase task comprehension, and enhance memory retention—ultimately supporting growth in core academic areas such as reading, math, and communication. The intended academic outcome is to foster greater independence and success in accessing curriculum-aligned content through visually enriched learning tools.
With access to color printer ink, students with special needs will benefit from more engaging and visually supportive materials that enhance their ability to process information, follow routines, and complete academic tasks independently. Color-coded visuals will help improve comprehension, reduce frustration, and support behavior regulation by making expectations clearer. As a result, students are expected to demonstrate increased task completion, improved focus during instruction, and greater participation in academic activities.
The grant funds will be used specifically to purchase color printer ink cartridges compatible with our classroom printer.
