Middle school students often struggle to stay engaged in abstract or complex science topics. The Legends of Learning program helps students understand the Science concepts through interactive, hands-on, or game-based experiences. It also can increase class participation and excitement about science. The program aligns with the Florida standards, while being easily adapted for struggling learners, while also being used with advanced students.
Learning Aids - Sunshine state book sets, robotics kits, puzzle boards, science models, engineering supplies, etc.
Throughout the school year, Legends of Learning will be used to supplement the learning during Earth and Space Science. It will be used as guided practice, independent activities for reteach or extension lessons. Can also be used as review of concepts and test prep. The built in data reports also are useful to see what areas students may need enrichment or reinforcement.
Students will demonstrate increased mastery of Florida science standards. Data from Legends of Learning reports and classroom assessments will measure impact. While using Legends of Learning, there will be higher engagement, stronger test performance, and increased student confidence in science.
Engaging students in science is often a challenge at the middle school level. To ensure all students have equitable access to high-quality science instruction, I am seeking funding to bring Legends of Learning to my classroom. This online platform uses standards-aligned, interactive science games to reinforce concepts, encourage problem-solving, and inspire curiosity.
