Goal(s)

a) The overall purpose of this project is to enhance classroom organization and instructional efficiency by equipping each student table with a dedicated roller cart. These carts will serve as centralized stations for essential resources—including supplies, folders, workbooks, and previously distributed materials students may have missed. This structure addresses the need to minimize unnecessary movement, reduce classroom disruptions, and ensure equitable access to instructional materials for all students.

b) The project directly supports the academic outcome of maximizing instructional time and improving student engagement in mathematics. By streamlining access to resources, students can remain focused on problem-solving, collaborative activities, and guided practice. Project Description

a) This project will provide each student table in the math classroom with a designated roller cart to serve as a centralized organizational hub. Each cart will contain essential classroom resources such as math supplies, student folders, workbooks, and copies of assignments or handouts that students may have missed due to absences. The carts will be consistently stocked and maintained so that students can quickly access what they need without interrupting instruction or leaving their work area. This system will also streamline classroom routines by reducing transition times and fostering smoother group collaboration.

b) The project will meet the needs of students by ensuring equitable access to materials, minimizing lost instructional time, and creating a more structured learning environment. Students who are absent or who misplace materials will have immediate access to what they need, which reduces academic gaps and helps them stay on pace with their peers. For the classroom as a whole, the carts will decrease unnecessary movement and distractions, leading to greater focus and productivity during lessons. At the school level, this project supports broader instructional goals by promoting student accountability, independence, and organizational skills—habits that extend beyond math class and contribute to overall academic success. 

 

Expected Outcomes

a) As a result of this project, students will experience improved access to classroom materials, resulting in fewer disruptions and increased instructional time. Students will be better able to stay organized, catch up on missed work independently, and remain engaged in mathematical tasks without losing focus. The project will also foster stronger student responsibility and independence, as learners will take ownership of accessing and maintaining their own resources. Overall, the carts will create a smoother, more efficient classroom environment that supports deeper focus on math problem-solving and collaboration.

b) Outcomes will be measured through:

Reduction in transition time during class, observed and documented through teacher time-tracking.

Increased student on-task behavior, measured through classroom observations and teacher logs.

Higher rates of completed and returned assignments, especially for students who were absent, tracked through gradebook data.

Student feedback surveys, which will provide insight into perceptions of classroom organization and ease of accessing materials.
