Category

School supplies - Markers, paints, paper, crayons, clay, pencils, sharpies, modeling dough, etc.

Project Description

a) Students will create with Model Magic for lightweight sculpting. We will also learn about color mixing and the meaning of form in art. Furthermore, we will incorporate Scratch Art paper projects for an engaging sensory exploration lesson. Additional supplies such as pastels, and glue will encourage tactile exploration and creativity. These materials allow students to safely and successfully explore art-making while developing fine motor skills, attention, and self-regulation. The project will meet the needs of IBI and developmental classrooms by providing adaptable resources that teachers can tailor to each child’s sensory profile. In addition, all of our students will be able to use these supplies as well.

Expected Outcomes

Students will have the opportunity to express themselves artistically while improving fine motor coordination, focus, and problem-solving. The sensory-friendly art process also supports social-emotional learning, giving students opportunities to calm, self-regulate, and engage in positive classroom experiences. Outcomes will be measured through student participation, completed projects, and observed improvements in engagement and self-expression.
