a) The purpose of this project is to offer tempera cake classroom sets for 700 students as they study major art periods throughout history. This project addresses the need for durable, accessible paints that allow students to explore cultural art forms while building on their painting skills.
b) Learning goals include connecting visual arts to world history and developing mastery of painting techniques while studying Egyptian, European, Medieval, and Renaissance art. In addition, students will explore vibrant projects with many subject matters throughout the year.
School supplies - Markers, paints, paper, crayons, clay, pencils, sharpies, modeling dough, etc.
a) Students will use tempera cake sets to engage in hands-on projects that connect directly to their studies of world civilizations. For example, students will explore Pompeii portraits and early Renaissance paintings, learning about the role of art in history while experimenting with color mixing and brush techniques.
b) These classroom sets will ensure that each grade level has reliable, easy-to-use paint supplies that can be shared across classes. This project meets the needs of students by blending art with social studies and history, reinforcing cross-curricular learning in a creative and engaging way.
a) Students will improve their painting techniques, deepen their understanding of historical art, and develop cultural awareness through creative exploration. Their work will demonstrate both technical progress and a stronger appreciation for art history.
b) Outcomes will be observed through classroom projects, school displays, and student participation in discussions linking history with art.
Funds will be used to purchase multiple classroom sets of tempera cakes that can withstand daily use by large groups of students. Storage space will be utilized to organize art supplies for daily use.
