One of the main outcomes of my Journalism classes is to produce the school's yearbook. The yearbook is student produced, and the class teaches all the journalistic components of creating, designing, and marketing the school yearbook.
Electronics - Headphones, charging cables, computer mice, etc.
To create a successful Journalism program, the class needs multiple cameras. The cameras can be used by students for the yearbook. Students will be allowed to check out cameras to take photos during sporting events, school activities, and club events. In addition, my Journalism students will be interviewing staff and fellow students and need the cameras for the interviews. The added cameras will allow more participation in my class.
The Journalism cameras currently are not all working. To truly be a successful program, we are in need of two new cameras. This can allow me to have more students be active in producing, creating, and recording school memories. I can have more Journalism students record more school events than just sports. I want the yearbook to reflect all aspects of student life at Barron Collier High School. With more cameras, I will be able to do so.
The grant funds will be used to purchase two up-to-date and functioning cameras. Each camera bundle will include cleaning materials, a case, and additional lenses to take the best photos possible. In addition, I will purchase luggage tags to organize the checkout of cameras. With the luggage tags, I can better track who has what camera to monitor the technology responsibility. In addition, I would also purchase two additional battery chargers, so that the cameras will be always ready for any event that occurs.
