Project Description

Learning games include board games based off of real life experiences such as paying rent and spending money, word recognition and creating words, vocabulary games, math flash cards, phonics games, and speech and language games. Board games require students to strategize, anticipate opponent moves, and create plans to overcome challenges. This will increase students critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Other games also require players to remember rules or card positions. This increases memory retention and facts.

Expected Outcomes

Having different learning games and activities in the classroom will improve my students cognitive skills, social skills, emotional regulation, motor skills, and creativity and imagination. This will also create and inclusive environment in the classroom by promoting empathy while engaging in games with peers, building confidence, and bridging the gap between abstract academic concepts and real-world application, making learning more meaningful and transferable.

Purpose of Funding

By thoughtfully incorporating board games into the classroom, I will create a more dynamic, engaging, and enriching learning environment that not only reinforces academic concepts but also help students develop vital social, emotional, and cognitive skills.
