Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is especially important for special needs students because it provides a consistent, structured, and supportive environment that helps them succeed both academically and socially. Many students with special needs benefit from clear expectations, predictable routines, and positive reinforcement, which PBIS emphasizes. This framework helps reduce disruptive behavior by teaching and rewarding appropriate behaviors rather than focusing solely on punishment. For students who may struggle with communication, emotional regulation, or social interaction, PBIS creates a safe and inclusive atmosphere where they can build confidence, develop crucial life skills, and feel supported by their peers and educators. Overall, PBIS promotes equity by meeting students where they are and helping them grow in a respectful and understanding setting.

Project Description

I am looking to get different classroom rewards to add to our classroom store, treasurebox, and different snacks for class rewards such as pizza party, snack day, ice cream bar, etc. In our classroom, students earn class money by making good decisions, helping one another, and completing assignments and homework. Every Friday students chose to spend or save their money. With their money they can buy prizes from our class store. Prizes include, chips, candy, colored pens, notebooks/journaments, fidgets, coloring books, toys, and more.

Expected Outcomes

Having an increase of rewards for our PBIS system will increase positive student behavior leading to an increase of student achievement. By focusing on proactive strategies to improve behavior, PBIS helps students feel safer and more connected to school, which in turn, allows them to focus on their academic goals. This framework also enhances students' social and emotional skills, which are crucial for success in the classroom and beyond.

Purpose of Funding

This will increase student behavior because of pbis awards that students are willing to work towards.
