Goal(s)

This grant proposal seeks funding to purchase LCD writing tablets for a first-grade classroom to enhance student engagement, support early literacy development, and provide an eco-friendly alternative to traditional paper-based activities. These tablets will be used daily for handwriting practice, phonics, math problem-solving, and creative expression.

Project Description

Upon receiving funding, 24 LCD writing tablets will be purchased—one for each student. Tablets will be integrated into daily literacy and math centers, morning work routines, and small group instruction. 

 

Expected Outcomes

Improved Handwriting and Literacy Skills
Students will have more opportunities to practice letter formation, sight words, and sentence writing in a low-pressure, engaging format. This will support stronger foundational literacy skills.
Increased Engagement and Motivation
The interactive nature of LCD tablets will make learning more enjoyable, encouraging participation and sustained attention during lessons and independent work.
Greater Confidence and Willingness to Take Risks
The ability to easily erase and try again will help students feel more comfortable making mistakes and learning from them, fostering a growth mindset.
