This grant will help our program and the school community as a whole to reach positive behavior goals, using popular activities and equipment selected by our students for rewards. At the end of the week, the classes that have met their behavior goals (prepared, on task, positive attitude) will get to choose their activities in class for the day.
Physical Education Equipment - Rackets, bats, balls, nets, jump ropes, etc.
The most popular activities across our coed middle school population are soccer, volleyball and Gaga ball. Using these activities as goals work toward at the end of the week will motivate students to come prepared for class, participate in the weekly activities and cooperate with teachers/classmates.
Daily behavior, participation and overall health will improve as the students will strive to earn the reward days for their classes. This will also impact the general mood of the students and have a positive effect on attendance as well.
The Marco Island Charter Middle School Physical Education Department appreciates the opportunity to apply for this grant on behalf of all the students in our school community. Each and every student enrolled in our school will use the equipment selected, and as a result it will positively impact health, fitness, behavior, and attendance.
