The purpose of this project is to use painters tape to color-code student computers, with each color representing a different grade level. This system addresses the need for better organization and management of classroom technology, helping students and teachers quickly identify which devices belong to which grade. By reducing confusion and saving time, this project ensures that technology is used efficiently and effectively during lessons.
The academic outcome of this project is to increase instructional time and student engagement by minimizing delays caused by mismanaged or misplaced devices. Clear labeling helps students independently locate and return the correct computers, fostering responsibility, organization, and smoother transitions between activities. This structure supports a more focused learning environment and allows teachers to spend more time on instruction rather than device management.

Project Description

Using painters tape in different colors, each grade level will be assigned a specific color to mark their computers. Teachers and students will apply the tape to devices and storage areas, creating a clear visual system for organization. The color-coding will be used daily to guide students in selecting the correct devices, returning them to the appropriate location, and maintaining order in the classroom technology setup. This system will also help substitute teachers and volunteers quickly navigate technology management.

Expected Outcomes

Students will spend less time searching for the correct computer and more time engaged in learning activities. Teachers will experience smoother classroom management and reduced interruptions related to technology distribution. The success of this project will be measured through teacher observation of transitions and student feedback, noting improvements in efficiency and organization. Overall, the classroom will operate more effectively, allowing for increased focus on academic instruction.

Purpose of Funding

The grant funds will be used to purchase painters tape in multiple colors for labeling computers by grade level. This directly aligns with the submitted items, as each roll of tape will serve a specific purpose in creating the color-coded system. Funding these materials ensures that the classroom maintains an organized, visually clear, and efficient method for managing student technology on a daily basis.
