The purpose of this project is to bring World History to Life. Imagine stepping into a classroom and finding yourself on the bustling Silk Road, wrapped in the colors and textures of ancient trade, or becoming an apprentice to the embalmers of Ancient Egypt, carefully wrapping a "mummy" alongside your classmates. In my 6th grade World History classroom, I strive to create these kind of immersive, hands-on experiences that make history more than just something students read in a textbook - they live it.

Goal(s)

The purpose of this project is to bring World History to Life. Imagine stepping into a classroom and finding yourself on the bustling Silk Road, wrapped in the colors and textures of ancient trade, or becoming an apprentice to the embalmers of Ancient Egypt, carefully wrapping a "mummy" alongside your classmates. In my 6th grade World History classroom, I strive to create these kind of immersive, hands-on experiences that make history more than just something students read in a textbook - they live it.

Category

Learning Aids - Sunshine state book sets, robotics kits, puzzle boards, science models, engineering supplies, etc.

Project Description

These transformations require special materials - from bolts of fabric and props that run our classroom into fairway lands, to supplies for tactile activities that let students experience the work, traditions, and innovations of people across time and cultures. Your support will help me create "living history" moments throughout the school year.

Expected Outcomes

These activities aren't just fun - they deepen comprehension, foster collaboration, and spark curiosity. Outcomes will be measured through tests; students will remember what they've experienced long after the test is over.

Purpose of Funding

By funding this project, you'll help create unforgettable moments where history leaps off the page and into the hands and hearts of my students. Together, we can turn world history into a journey they'll never forget.
