Goal(s)

The purpose of my project is to give students an engaging and fun way to master writing CVC words, High Frequency Words and Letters. These writing boards will give kindergarten students endless opportunities to practice writing. They also are a great way to provide differenciation in Writing instruction. Research has shown that if students are engaged they will interact with the subject matter more eagerly. These boards will provide a fun way for my students to practice writing letters and words while interacting with grade-level (and beyond!) ELA content.

Project Description

Throughout the school year, students will be able to use the boards to practice writing in both whole-group and small-group settings. They will be able to use these boards in activities such as "write the room" where they will find specific words to practice writing while they are seeking them in different places in my classroom. These boards can also be used to monitor understanding of writing when used in a whole-group setting. These boards will motivate my students to write as they are colorful and they promote self-correction.

Expected Outcomes

If my request is granted, I expect to see my students eager to write with these boards. This will help their confidence and stamina grow as most of my students are beginning writers. It will also build the fine-motor skills needed to help them build on writing skills:
1)letters, 2) words, 3) sentences, 4) short stories/non-fiction writing pieces.

Purpose of Funding

This request includes a 24 Pack LCD Writing Tablet for Kids, 6.5 Inch Colorful Doodle Board Drawing Tablet, Erasable, Reusable Electronic Drawing Pads. The cost of the set is $50.00 with $3 tax and free shipping.
