Project Description

The Sunshine State Young Readers Award Jr. is a program created by the Florida Association for Media in Education. This program was designed to develop student interest in reading for pleasure by exposing them to a wide range of appropriate literature. All 15 Sunshine State books will be read to our kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd graders. Students will vote for their favorite book after reading all titles.  

 

Expected Outcomes

Students will improve their reading skills and develop a love for reading by exposing them to a variety of diverse literature. Outcomes will be measured by students taking Accelerated Reader quizzes on the books they read. 

 

Purpose of Funding

I will use these funds to purchase hardcover books that will be available for check out in the Media Center.
