The purpose of this project is to strengthen our AICE Marine Science program by providing the teacher with the latest Cambridge International AS & A Level Marine Science Coursebook and Workbook (2022 edition). These resources are aligned to the most current Cambridge syllabus and will allow for precise lesson planning, targeted practice activities, and improved exam preparation materials. Without updated reference materials, it is difficult to ensure that instruction and review resources match current exam expectations.
Students will achieve stronger mastery of the Cambridge AICE Marine Science curriculum, leading to higher exam readiness, improved pass rates, and increased eligibility for the AICE Diploma and associated scholarships.
Learning Aids - Sunshine state book sets, robotics kits, puzzle boards, science models, engineering supplies, etc.
The coursebook will be used as a primary teacher reference for developing lessons, guiding class discussions, and ensuring coverage of all syllabus topics. The workbook will be used to create structured practice activities, review questions, and mock assessments. These materials will be integrated into daily instruction, homework, and exam prep sessions to provide students with repeated, varied exposure to key concepts.
Our AICE Marine Science students face a rigorous, college-level curriculum that requires precise alignment between instruction and the official Cambridge standards. Having these updated materials ensures that lessons, reviews, and assessments are both accurate and effective, giving students the best possible preparation for their exams. This supports the school’s goal of increasing advanced course success and college readiness.
Students will demonstrate increased confidence and competence in marine science content, show improved performance on practice exams, and achieve higher success rates on the official Cambridge AICE assessments.
Outcomes will be measured through:
Pre- and post-test comparisons of student knowledge in key syllabus areas.
Student performance on teacher-created mock exams modeled after Cambridge past papers.
Year-over-year comparison of AICE Marine Science pass rates.
The grant funds will be used to purchase one copy each of the Cambridge International AS & A Level Marine Science Coursebook and Workbook (2022 edition). These resources will serve as the foundation for lesson planning, curriculum alignment, and the creation of student practice activities. This purchase directly matches the submitted budget and will ensure that instruction in the AICE Marine Science course is fully aligned with the most current Cambridge syllabus and assessment standards.
