This project uses whiteboards placed around the classroom to make student thinking visible, allowing the teacher to monitor problem-solving in real time, give immediate feedback, and address misconceptions quickly. Students benefit from seeing and discussing multiple strategies, which promotes collaboration, metacognition, and deeper conceptual understanding. By articulating their reasoning and engaging in academic discourse, students strengthen problem-solving skills and achieve greater mastery of content standards.

This project will turn the classroom’s perimeter into interactive whiteboard space where students solve problems, collaborate in small groups, and share strategies. With the teacher centrally positioned, all student work can be monitored in real time, allowing for immediate feedback and quick correction of misconceptions. Students will benefit from active engagement, peer learning, and exposure to multiple problem-solving approaches, while the classroom as a whole gains a collaborative culture that supports critical thinking, academic discourse, and mastery of content standards.
This project will help students build stronger problem-solving skills, deepen conceptual understanding, and gain confidence in explaining their reasoning. Real-time feedback and exposure to multiple strategies will boost engagement, collaboration, and self-correction. Success will be measured through teacher observations, analysis of student work on the whiteboards, formative assessments, and comparison of pre- and post-project performance on targeted standards.
Grant funds will be used to purchase seven magnetic whiteboard easel stands (36" x 24") with adjustable tripods, each including markers, erasers, and magnets. These portable boards will be placed around the classroom perimeter to give every student group a dedicated space to display their problem-solving process. The mobility of the easels allows flexible classroom arrangements, supports small-group collaboration, and enables the teacher to monitor all students’ thinking in real time. This will directly support the project’s goal of increasing engagement, encouraging peer learning, and providing immediate feedback
