Goal(s)

IMS has added a Intensive Behavioral Intervention -3 self contained unit. Our goals is to create an environment that best meets their sensory needs throughout the day in order to help regulate and reduce behavioral challenges by incorporating flexible seating.

Project Description

Flexible seating allows students to choose a seating option that best suits their learning style and needs. Flexible seating helps to reduce distractions and increase focus, as students are able to move around and adjust their seating as needed. This approach to classroom design has improved student engagement, behavior, and academic performance.

Expected Outcomes

This grant will allow us to change the environment for these students. This will increase student participation in learning and help improve their focus and ability to self regulate.
This can be measured by tracking the average number of behavioral incidents per student per day.

Purpose of Funding

funds will be used to purchase the items to add to the new IBI-3 classrooms.
