Goal(s)

To continue to inspire and motivate students to work collaboratively as a class to earn popcorn party rewards on a bi-monthly basis. This positive behavior intervention and support (PBIS) will cater to the diverse learners within my classroom, while also cultivating a community of learners.  

Project Description

Students will have the opportunity daily to earn a class popcorn point. This will be implemented in conjunction with my behavior modification program. When the students follow the classroom expectations, they are awarded a popcorn point for that day. After two week, the class/classes with the most points will celebrate with Popcorn Friday. Each student will receive their own bag of popcorn made especially for them with their toppings/seasonings of choice.  

Expected Outcomes

Funding "Popcorn Fridays" for another year will continue to provide a rewarding and positive atmosphere for cooperative learning and student engagement as each class works together towards a common goal. The goal is to have popcorn for all classes every time we celebrated Popcorn Friday. As the year continues, I see students and classes working together to help everyone achieve success!  

Purpose of Funding

These items will help me continue a tradition I started nearly 10 years ago. I already own a large popcorn machine, however the grant will cover all other supplies needed to have about 20 "Popcorn Fridays" throughout the school year.
