Goal(s)

Alphabet Sounds Teaching Tubs are for everyday! These tubs will help with engaging children with hands-on letter learning. The miniature objects excite students while building vocabulary, language and alphabet skills. The goal for this purchase is to first enrich the students vocabulary, prompt real world discussions and finally having students recognize the initial sounds of each object and be able to sort them. These are a very valuable resource for teachers. All learning styles can be used with this resource.

Project Description

These real-life miniature examples are wonderful, tactile visuals for our multilingual students. They prompt discussions and engagement when learning new words and sounds. They also enrich language and communication.  

 

Expected Outcomes

We will use the items for different games both in small groups and during circle time. This will definitely improve language, vocabulary, fine motor skills, increase memory, beginning sounds and prompt communication. There are so many learning opportunities (letter recognition, letter sounds, language, memory) for children with this product and they love to look and touch the little items in each container as well. 

 

Purpose of Funding

I will purchase these items through the Lakeshore.com website. The shipping and tax is added to the order. These items are rarely on sale, but this is the full price of this invaluable item. The tubs are filled with miniature, real world items that correspond to the letter on each tub. The media specialist had these at my school and I am so eager to get my own set and use them daily.
