Fifth grade is implementing a house system - using the Ron Clark philosophy - this year with a focus on citizenship traits, academic achievement, school spirit, enhanced relationships, and leadership qualities. Our goal is to recognize students from different houses each quarter by awarding students a "one of a kind" house sweatshirt. Students can only "earn" these sweatshirts which will highlight their extra effort in the above mentioned focus areas.
School-Wide, Grade-Level, Or Class Events/Programs - Parent Nights, Honor Roll Celebrations, EOY Events, etc.
Each quarter the 5th grade team of teachers will nominate students whom they believe have gone above and beyond in the focus areas of citizenship, academics, spirit and relationships, and leadership. Students who are selected will recevie their hoodie during a "Four Houses - One Family" assembly. As we continue this program and award, the honor of receiving the hoodie will motivate and encourage the commitment to excel so they can Wear it, Live it, Lead it!
Leadership Hoodie will provide students with an incentive to be a well rounded individual who can succeed not only in academics, but also learn the value of social and emotional well being. We are using a specialized APP to award points for the various qualities and teacher input will also be considered in measuring student success.
The attached picture shows a sample sweatshirt from the Ron Clark store. These funds will be used to order sweatshirts from Amazon and have a local business create a specific house iron on design.
