Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 1010

Golden Gate Middle School has worked on positive behavior interventions this year in a few different ways.

One has been teaching, implementing, enforcing and rewarding students on the 12 character traits. Focusing on one or more trait a month, teachers and staff were able to write a student an award for displaying the monthly trait. These include: Responsibility, citizenship, patriotism, cooperation/honor/respect, acceptance/forgiveness, hopefulness/preserverance, self-control, charity/kindness, honestly, fairness/justice, conscience/integrity, caring and courage. Twice a month students would get those awards handed to them and then able a pick a prize on the stage, in front of their peers, at their lunch time.

Students with Gold, silver and bronze card could also pick a prize once a month as well. They earn these cards by their GPA.

The grant was used to help fund these prizes and treats.

ALSO, three times this year ( the last one is May 30th) we also had PBIS incentive days. These days consisted of students being 'eligible' to participate in a fun filled day of activities outside. In order to be eligible you had to have no F's and no major disciplinary or atteance issues. The incentives included; bounce houses, snacks, drinks/water, dunk tank, balls/hula hoops etc...

The grant was also used to help purchase things we needed for the PBIS incentive days.
