Goal

My goal is to secure this grant to help me provide my students with invaluable opportunities to practice critical thinking skills each morning while they wait for school to begin. By incorporating morning STEAM bins, students can engage in meaningful, educational activities that stimulate their minds and set a positive tone for the day. Additionally, these bins can serve as enrichment activities for students who finish their classwork early, ensuring that they remain engaged and challenged. This grant would significantly enhance the learning experience and promote a culture of continuous intellectual growth in my classroom.

What will be done with my students

Having STEAM bins readily available when students arrive in the morning will provide them with an opportunity to engage in productive activities that start their day off on a positive note. These activities will invite children to design, plan, and build various structures, as well as play games that stimulate their curiosity and critical thinking skills. By participating in science, technology, engineering, and math tasks, both independently and in small groups, students will experience powerful learning that fosters collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving abilities. 

Benefits to my students

Research shows that the integrated approach of STEAM education provides students with a wider range of knowledge and skills. It develops their ability to solve problems using both theoretical and practical approaches, and prepares them for real-world situations that require them to be creative and think critically. STEAM Education also Increases Innovative Thinking, Encourages Curiosity, Inspires Creativity and Ingenuity, Fosters Collaboration and Communication skills, Builds Confidence, and Teaches children Acceptance of Failure.  

Budget Narrative

The $143.00 will be used to purchase the 7 different STEAM activities listed above, as well as cover the cost of of tax and shipping.
