Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 148

Dear Champions for Learning Grants,

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks for the generous support provided through this grant. Because of this opportunity, I’ve been able to continue supplying snacks and small water bottles for my students—something that has made a meaningful difference in our classroom environment.

I’ve always believed that students who are hungry cannot fully engage in learning. This belief led me to begin offering snacks in my classroom, ensuring that hunger is never a barrier to focus or participation. Thanks to your support, I’ve been able to sustain and even expand this effort. Providing water bottles has also significantly reduced classroom disruptions, as students no longer need to leave to get a drink.

Many of my students know they can come to me if they’ve missed breakfast or simply need something to get them through the day. It's become a small but powerful way to build trust and show that their well-being matters. Your grant has helped make this possible, and for that, I am truly grateful.

Thank you again for your investment in our students’ success and for helping to create a more supportive and attentive learning environment.

I apologize, I forgot to take pictures throughout the year.

Warm regards,
Elisa Murry

What will be done with my students

I have a bin in the classroom where snacks are stored. I ask my students to be respectful and remember that it is a snack, not a meal and only takes one or two. They do not need to ask, they get a snack if needed.

Benefits to my students

They get a snack and are not focused on being hungry.
