For 2nd graders, using the mouse on the computer keyboard is tricky. This is especially true for cut and paste or dragging items. Our math program, RedBird required students to do both of these things to solve problems. This caused much frustration...until we received a mouse for each student. What a game changer! Now with a simple click, students can answer problems on their own and have been very successful in their learning growth on RedBird. Of course it helps ensure greater success on all computer programs, but I've seen the most benefits on RedBird.

Goal(s)

The goal is to provide each student a wired mouse to make programs utilized on district provided laptops more user friendly.

Project Description

Many of my students have difficulty manipulating the touchpad mouse on their laptops. This causes frustration and increases time to complete a lesson.

Expected Outcomes

For 2nd graders, a wired mouse is more user friendly. Having these will reduce difficulty doing lessons on their laptops and make the students more productive and confident.

Purpose of Funding

Total cost includes a class set plus a few extras as well as tax.
