The funds that were awarded to Ms. Furtado's Pre-K classroom were put to good use.  With these funds the students had the ability to use maniplutives to take the ideas that were being taught to them and master thier knowledge.  One example was the unit that we investigated "Our Families".  The children were able to physically choose the people in thier family and put them in front of them and count them, we could find out how many people lived in thier house with them and id they had similar family makeups.  Another thing ordered with the funds were CD's for movement songs.  These became a classroom favorite fast.  The children got to use their motor skills to throw bean bags in the air and eventually they learned to pass the bean bag back and forth.  All of the manipulatives that we ordered greatly benefited all children in the classroom.
