Goal

Our goal is to set goals and reach goals in Mrs. Young's class! In our class, working together is better! We promote a love of learning through hands on experiences. When we make good choices, we have good consequences.  

What will be done with my students

Every Friday when students get their work done, we have something called Fun Friday. During Fun Friday, we engage with our friends and get to know one another through hands-on, fun classroom activities.

When our WHOLE class makes good choices, we earn a classroom party. On party days, we love to pick a theme and bring in supplies to celebrate.

Our last classroom party, we turned off the lights, plugged in our classroom lights and took out our flashlights! Students love time on the computer, reading in our reading tent, coloring and painting with friends! The list is endless!

In our classroom everyone can be a leader! Our leader of the month has special seating options as well. We have many flexible seating options throughout the room for students to feel comfortable and do their best work!  

Benefits to my students

I believe in fostering positive relationships in my classroom. Each student is part of a classroom team. On their team they work together to earn points towards a special in-class reward! This could be eating in the classroom, inviting a friend to lunch with the teacher etc...
Students develop a sense of self and a love of learning when we promote a positive experience in the classroom....where everyone feels like part of our classroom family. Where everyone feels like they are GOOD at something and are needed to make the class feel WHOLE.
