Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 80

Thank you so much for funding our project! For this I had read aloud Lemonade Wars to all of the students! They really loved the book and this helped them in both fiction comprehension and working on understanding figurative language. The students were so engaged and loved the book because of the cullminating project that they had looked forward to at the end! The pictures are of what we had used our money for! The students in the classroom when they had compelted thier work made lemonade! They marketed their lemonade stand by creating fliers and posters for the entire school. They also went on the school news to promote their stand. Then the students sold their lemonde that they made before school for a week! They had raised around $600 from this for them to spend this year! So far they have spent money on a pizza party after completing PM2 of the state assessments and on a bagel breakfast both days before their state tests! They love seeing how much money we have in our grade level account and choosing ways that they want to spend it! THank you so much for making this such a memorable experience for our students!

Original Grant Overview

Goal

Our goal is to provide students with all the materials they need to create a lemonade stand. They will create everything from posters to advertise to the lemonade itself. They participate in this after reading the book series Lemonade Wars!

What will be done with my students

My students will read the novel series Lemonade Wars. Through this they will work on the concepts of central idea, context clues, point of view and many more concepts. Then they will create posters to hang around the school and go on the school news to advertise for their lemonade stand. They will make the lemonade and package it so it is ready to sell. During selling they collect money and will be doing math to count their money.

Benefits to my students

This benefits our students because they are reading, doing math and learning financial literacy. After their sale they can use the money that they make to choose class rewards. Last year our students choose to use the money for special rewards such as a pizza party, an ice cream party and much more for after their FAST assessments.

Budget Narrative

This will provide the students with all of the materials needed to make their lemonade!
