Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 80

This grant was so successful; it motivated my students to work hard and give me their best efforts. I was able to buy prizes for my students (such as hot chips their favorite) that incentivized them to continue doing the right thing. Whether it was their computer program, Lexia PowerUp, on grade level work they accomplished, statewide tests, or just doing the right thing, the Jedi Prizes were there to reward my students. Additionally, the Jedi Rewards helped build a positive environment in my classroom. Students cheered for their classmates when they won their prizes, and it helped students feel connected to my class. I truly appreciate Champions for Learning and all the investors for helping fund my grant. Their generosity allowed my students to succeed not only extrinsically, but intrinsically as well! 

 

Original Grant Overview

Goal

My goal is to give my padwans (students) rewards for their positive behavior and participation.  

 

What will be done with my students

My Jedi in training (students) get tickets for answering questions, for helping out their fellow classmates, and any other positive thing the Jedi Master sees them do. Their tickets go towards a raffle every Friday. The winners pick out a prize from the prize bin.

Additionally, there is a "Jedi of the Week" (student of the week) who also gets a prize for going above and beyond that week. 

 

Benefits to my students

Classroom climate will benefit from these prizes, along with participation and growth in their learning. Due to students wanting to receive tickets, participation and kindness increases dramatically in the class.

These prices came directly from Amazon. Spicy chips are usually the prize my students choose above others.
