To provide students with small incentives to attend college and career events. We have a number of career events that take place during lunch and many students will only approach if we have a snack or school supplies for them. Once they are at the table, we can engage them, and share information about college and career development.

Goal

To provide students with small incentives to attend college and career events. We have a number of career events that take place during lunch and many students will only approach if we have a snack or school supplies for them. Once they are at the table, we can engage them, and share information about college and career development.

What will be done with my students

Students will be provided with snacks and school supplies when they engage in college and career development activities. These expenses often fall outside of what we as educators are able to spend our Teacher LEAD money on making it an additional expense that is incurred.

Benefits to my students

Many of our students are still developing intrinsic motivation and thus by providing them with something small that they want we can show them how they can develop career skills that they can use beyond high school.

Budget Narrative

The mints and candy would be used as an incentive for students to engage with the activity. I can buy them in bulk to reduce the cost and use them throughout the year.
