Goal

My goal is to help my students with emotional/behavioral disorders and autism spectrum disorder gain access to the platform "Flocabulary," which presents academic material in song form, helping them enjoy, access, and retain vocabulary in all subject areas.

What will be done with my students

Lessons will be supplemented with Flocabulary to assist with retention of vocabulary. This grant would allow the IBI-3 unit to have access to the subscription. In social studies and science, Flocabulary will be utilized to facilitate retention of vocabulary terms and current events, providing students with an interactive and musical way to access course topics.

Benefits to my students

The students in our program have behaviors that impede their ability to learn. With Flocabulary, material can be presented in the form of song, making learning more enjoyable and accessible to those who may have otherwise not participated. The interactive activities within the software will allow all students to be involved in the learning process in a creative and expressive way.

Budget Narrative

The $138 will cover one subscription to Flocabulary for one year and will be accessible to the IBI-3 unit at Corkscrew Middle School.
