Impact to My Classroom

# of Students Impacted: 50

Many ESE students have already benefited from our Fundations Kit.  Often times, my ESE students need extra reinforcement with reading concepts and this kit provides manipulatives and and materials to help close their gap and propel them towards reading automaticity.  With this Fundations Kit I am able to focus on the skills that my students are lacking by providing supplementary instruction that coorelates to the new phonics curriculum they are learning their their general educaiton classroom.

Original Grant Overview

Goal

My goal as an ESE teacher is to provide the same materials to my students that are given to general education classroom teachers to close the gap in reading automaticity.

What will be done with my students

I will use the visuals and manipulatives in the reading kit to work in small groups with my special education students to close their reading gap.

Benefits to my students

My students will have the materials needed to be successful in reading. Students with special needs often need more reinforcement through extra practice, visual, and manipulatives to drive in essential concepts.

Budget Narrative

I will order the kit from Wilson website. The total for the kit is $805 with the shipping cost of 64.40 for a grand total of 869.40.
