Goal

To create an impact in student lesson pass rate by at least a five percent increase from the beginning of the school year to the time of the winter diagnostic. The goal of this request is to provide earbuds for the third grade students at Lavern Gaynor Elementary. Having the proper tools will allow students to complete online lessons with greater focus.  

What will be done with my students

Students will be given a diagnostic at the beginning of the year. Using the diagnostic as a foundation, the third graders will be given personalized instruction to obtain a greater achievement level. As stated in the goal, the aim is to gain a five percent increase in lessons passed from as seen in the beginning of the year (first three weeks of instruction after the fall diagnostic) to the winter diagnostic (using the three weeks following this assessment).  

Benefits to my students

Having available materials such as earbuds will allow students to complete online reading lessons with clear focus. Furthermore students will see immediate feedback as they monitor their academic growth. Earbuds will give support as students zone in on i-ready reading lessons that are designed to meet their personal needs in areas like phonics, comprehension, and vocabulary.

An additional benefit is that i-ready provides insight to the reading instructor as well, and gives a more complete picture of where the student could use further support. The i-ready platform provides a regular outlook of student reading growth.  

Budget Narrative

The prices of the earbuds and headphones shown are provided through Amazon. Giving two types of ear sets should assist learner preferences.
