Teachers are using this platform to improve student engagement in their content area. Gimkit is a gaming platform used to review and practice vocabulary, content knowledge and application of content. Students are having fun while improving their scores on formative and summative assessments.

It is a wonderful program where teachers can play the review, games along with their students. It helps develop and deepen positive relationships in the classroom while learning and practicing content and skills. The students ask to play the review games and want you to play along with them. It has been fantastic fun for all.

It can be difficult to find a way to connect with students sometimes, and this platform has provided an unexpected benefit of giving us that. Laughing and having fun while developing new skills and content knowledge base is a true gift. In middle school students can be hard to reach. Gimkit has made it possible and fun.

Goal(s)

To purchase a year subscription to Gimkit, a review game show that focuses on content.

Project Description

Gimkit, will be used to practice the new Florida benchmarks for civics and history education. This subscription will be used to review content in the classroom, and as an assignment. It targets students areas of academic need, according to their answers in real time. It is a tool that provides individualized support for each student, per the state required content.

Expected Outcomes

Students will answer review questions on their own device at their own pace. Through this format they are exposed to content several times to ensure mastery. This is vital to student success on state and district exams. The civics state exam is worth 30% of each student's final grade.

Purpose of Funding

This subscription will allow year long access to this software for the civics department.
