Original Grant Overview
Goal
The goal of creating a " Creative Classroom" Connect within my 2nd grade classroom is to allow students the opportunity to connect with their peers while completing STEM challenges that tie in with the curriculum and standards.
What will be done with my students
The 2nd grade students will be completing out of the box tasks that go beyond paper , pencil, and textbooks. Students will have opportunities to use kinesthetic tasks to show their understanding of content while also working with their peers to complete their tasks as teams.
Benefits to my students
All students do not learn the same but all students are capable of using creative outlets to show their understanding and mastery of standards. All students will benefit from working collaboratively with their peers to complete tasks that go beyond paper and pencil tasks.
Budget Narrative
These items will be used to supply Creative Connection centers for students to use and create. There are a variety of items such as pipe cleaners, paint, and STEM tinkering toys. Students will have multiple options for sharing their thinking while using these items.
